If Woody Allen made documentaries, this would be the result. That’s a compliment. Not everyone is a Woody Allen fan; thus, a disclaimer. The fungi are remarkable, but the audio is priceless. The vocal intonations (”It was all unpronounceable Latin, so I didn’t even bother” or “This looks like a wasp’s nest. I think it’s a fungus. I don’t know”) = priceless. The video moving to the next slide, leaving the narrator describing something 2 slides ago and trying to keep up = priceless. Wonderful!

Thanks! Sure I’ll take that as a compliment. You’re absolutely right about the narration; I did it on the fly & couldn’t keep up, but it was fun trying. I also tried pronouncing the 1st fungi in latin; then threw up my hands and more or less said, aren’t these pretty. Glad you got a kick out of it. I enjoyed reading your comments.

i liked the …
i liked the spontaneous feel of your narration too, but you could take control of it. If you use a video editor you can just record your audio first and describe the objects ,or fungi in this case, while you browse your clip collection taking your time. Then add the clips in after and pausing them or slowmo to strech to fit your audio. also you can cut the ones that are to long. nice docu by the way.

I really like that part of it, it sounded like something I would do, full of love for my subject without needing much knowledge for it. I really really liked it.

The one in the …
The one in the beginning is white coral (beauty). I think the rust one is Zoned Phlebia. Dried puffballs. The gorgeous pinwhell one is probably Pinwheel Marasmius.
